I'm not sure if you are asking if you can still claim Child Benefit from the UK or asking if you can claim the equivalent in France.

If its UK, no you can't unless you are in the military.
Anyone who leaves the country can no longer claim Child benefit. In fact you are supposed to inform them if you even leave the country for a few days, as you cannot claim for those days. But who does ?
If anyone chooses to keep claiming you will be found out eventually as they find out that the child is not registered with a school anymore or clinic.
My old neighbour got caught out after 8 months. Her daughter went to live in Pakistan and she still claimed. She got into big trouble and had to pay it all back. Not worth the risk imo.

In France I do believe their is some sort of equivalent benefit, but I do not know who is allowed it etc..

Best check with the local authority where you are locating too in France.
Bon Voyage :)

My daughter lived in France for a while and you can claim child benefit...infact it is a much higher amount than uk. You have to provide a letter stating that you have been receiving child benefit for the named child and stating that you have now ceased to claim from the date you leave the country. Your French benefit will commence from the day you enter France if you claim immediatly. The French systems are very much in favour of familys and you get all sorts of savings on other taxes etc:
