I'm just wondering how long it would take to receive the money from federal and state, on average, if I e-file without getting the instant money thing or a loan. Is it a long time?

It depends on how soon you file and whether you want a check mailed to you or direct deposit. If you were to file today and choose direct deposit then it takes about 2 weeks but if you wanted a check mailed to you then it takes up to 6 weeks.

Don't bother with the instant loan thing, it's a rip off. As for time, direct deposit is the way to go. I filed with www.expresstaxrefund.com and they list the date on the main site, if you even have a question you can call the free tech support and get an answer fast.

Mail can actually take up to 6 weeks. Direct deposit is best. It comes back in about a week and a half. Same day and next day loans are very expensive.
My boyfriend has owned a tax firm for 9 years.
Good luck

Normally, 8 to 10 days. But the IRS is having some issues this year and has warned that refunds could be delayed. Try the link listed below.

10 days, and you can go to where's my refund and find out. Most places won't charge if you make under a certain amount or are a single parent. Try completetax.com. its great..really. good luck.

Direct Deposit - The deposit is usually made the second Friday after the return is accepted.

Mail - 3-4 weeks.

it doesn't take long if you do direct deposit and it will save you a lot of money, the instant money thing keeps over 100 dollars of your money.
