I'm looking for a good digital camera under $350 that will be good for taking pictures at concerts, the camera I have right now is a Nikon Coolpix 5600 and the pictures just turn out to dark! I want one that's not really big and bulky but it doesn't have to be super small, has good battery life, and does videos as well as pictures, and takes a large size memory card. Does anyone have any suggestions on what camera would be good, or what I should look for to get the pictures to be bright?

Currently the camera you are using only has an ISO of 50 - 200 and no image stabilization. To be honest it's a low end Nikon, so it's features and very limited. I can understand your frustration in trying to use the camera in low light situations.

You need a camera with a high ISO (800 or above) and also image stabilization to take pictures in the low light of a concert. The only problem is the price range is limited for those two capabilities.

I'm a big fan of Canon digital cameras and as such would recommend getting the Canon Powershot A710. Since it has an ISO of 800 and image stabilization. Below is a link that is selling the camera for $299, this leaves you with $50, enough money for a 2 gig SD card and rechargeable batteries.

What Tex says is correct, but there are even better choices out there. This is easy. If you're talking about a compact camera- you can narrow down your choices to a Fuji.
Only the Fuji's have a much larger ccd which gives you 2-3 stops better low light performance than any other compact digicam on the market today. So, while Tex's suggested A710 is an excellent camera, it's ISO800 is pretty dang noisy. These Fuji's have clean ISO800, and a decent ISO1600 (and a noisy ISO3200 if you really need it).

The Fuji F20 is cheap ~$165.
More features- try the (nearly identical) F30. Just over $200 with a $50 rebate until the end of the month. It has a 580 shot battery life (longest of any compact camera) and it's videos are great in low light as well.

Taking good pictures at concerts is challenging. It is a very tricky and dynamic lighting situation. You need a camera with a fast lens and very good high ISO performance. A digital SLR is much better suited for taking photos in this situation.

I would recommend the Kodak Easyshare C300, which is great if you want instant prints, and was rated 5 out of 5. I'm not sure of it's price, but I THINK it's under your price.

It's 3.2 Megapixels,
5X continuous digital zoom,
37 mm lens
Exclusive on-camera Share button
Bright 1.5" color display

It's definately worth checking out! :)
have a browse on amazon.com, I always find it useful. x
