I read a very good statement earlier. You have to commit a crime (like lying on your applications)or be an illegal alien to recieve government assistance. (Isn't being in the United States illegaly, considered braking the law-commiting a crime- anyways) So how many US citizens have lied on your medicaid papers just to be eligable, and then got caught? What was your penalty? ( I posted this Q in law and ethics, but nobody seems to want to answer) So now I'll ask parents.

First of all. I never said that I lied on any apps! I also never said there was anything wrong with being on medicaid. I know many people who have had to conceal some of their income, because they went slightly over, but desperatly needed the assistance.

I have never done that but I do know that periodically they will just pull records and do a verification on it.. u must prove what u put on there.. It may be 5 years..it may be 6 months.. If u get it based on a lie, it's a felony.. u can get a big fine, go to jail and lose ur medical assistance permanently and then have to pay back the overpayment..

I didn't lie on my application, commit a crime, nor have I ever been an illegal alien, and I had no trouble receiving assistance for my pregnancy. I would assume though, that the liars get caught most of the time (eventually, at least), but I have no idea what the penalty would be besides having the assistance taken away. Maybe jail time or a fine?

I can confirm that i have never lied on my medicade papers, and i an not a criminal. Its not always aobut income either. If you have a medical nessity you can get medicade. My parents made over 80,000 a year and still got medicade for me. ( not saying that i think that was right or anything) They didnt lie either. As a teen i was diagnosed with depression so they just gave it to me. and never took it. Now that i am living on my own with one child and another on the way i qulify. Now my son on the other hand his father makes to much money but he gets it anyway becuase my boyfriend is not offered medical insurance at his jobs. And no Children should be going without midical insurance due to the chip program they have income limits for the free program but if you make to much money they offer a program that is like 30 dollars a month. And there income level are quite resonable. I want to say like 45,000 for a family of four. If you know familys that truely need it income or not there are ways to get midical asstance without lying you just have to apply in the right catigory.

First off, I'm not sure why you think only criminals get government assistance. and Second, what does being an illegal alien have to do with medicaid?
Have you researched Medicaid? This is a program for children who's parents can't provide health insurance. I was on medicaid when I was 17. There is no point in "lying" - what would you be lying about? Your income? A credit report would show them how much you make, your employer's information, etc.
Lots of children & parents need this program, and it is unfortunately one of the ones that most states no longer want to support probably because of people (like you ) who lie just to get something for free that the rest of us work very hard for - and then you ruin it for those who really do need the help.
