a JPEG file is a piture file JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group and it is just a way to turn a picture into computer language
most pictures are either jpegs gifs o bmps what you can do is open the picture in paint then put save as and put save as jpeg it should be fairly simple, you might lose a little quality but nothing drastic

In computing, JPEG (pronounced JAY-peg) is a commonly used standard method of compression for photographic images. The name JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group.

Resolution for you: Right-click on your Photo's file then choose: "Open With" and then "Paint", Now go to File menu and choose "Save As" option then change format type to "JPEG .JPG" format.

There are different file formats for images.
The common ones are .jpg .bmp .gif. There are plenty more.
jpg or jpeg is a compressed image of a .bmp, meaning that It takes up less space.
.zip and .rar are compressions of files types as well.
.mp3 is a compression of .wav files or sound files.

There are software converters out there that change the file from one format to the other.

Using your favorite picture editor, like Windows Paint. Choose "Save As". There should be an option to save the file to a different format. Consult the manual.
