Hungarian Goulash: 2lbs stew meat (prefer venison) but beef will do. brown in lg skillet in about 1/4 C hot oil; reduce heat, add 1C chopped onion, 1Clove garlic, cook till onion is tender not brown. Blend in 1/4 C flour, 3tsp paprika, 1tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper,1/4 tsp crushed thyme (if fresh use 1/2 tsp) and 2 bay leaves. Add one 1lb12oz can of stewed tomatoes. Cover and simmer till meat is tender (1-11/2 hrs). Stir often toward end of cookingStir in 1/4C red wine (optional, adds to robust flavor, if still simmering let simmer about 5 min to cook off the alcohol) remove from heat stir in 1C dairy sour cream. Serve immediately over hot noodles. serves about 6 with a salad & rolls! Enjoy a great dinner!! (you could add about 1/4C bell pepper if desired) You can also sprinkle the meat w/ about 1/4tsp of ground cumin while browning. (it brings out the flavor)

Try some Hungarian recipe sites (since Goulash or "gulyas" in Hungarian is a Hungarian food), but most gulyas is meat, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, parsley, in a stew or a soup form.
You may have better luck with a Hungarian dish called "lecso". Look for this on Hungarian recipe sites. It is primarily bell peppers and tomatoes.

Most recipes on my site are my own (including this Hungarian goulash recipe) so all tried and only placed when everything works out fine :)
Got 2 red and 2 green bell peppers in it: you can replace the green ones with yellow or red (or any colour you like) ones :)
(the cake and cookies recipes are from my mother in law: can't take credit for those).

Try and enjoy it like we do.

This is the one my Mom always makes. We called it "Glop" though because we couldn't say Goulash.
Brown your hamburger with onion, green pepper, salt, pepper and garlic to taste.
In seperate pot, cook elbow maccaroni.
After both are cooked and drained, mix together and add 1 can of tomato soup and one can of cheddar cheese soup. Now, later, she started adding a can of mushroom soup as well and I think it tastes much better. Add in enough water (not more than three cans) to bring to the consistency you like. Heat through and enjoy!

I chop green bell pepper and onions and add that to my ground beef and tomato sauce, while my noodles are boiling in a different pan. After my sauce has cooked down a little bit I add mushrooms and I put a little bit of mustard in it, then add my noodles and some seasoning, (I use spaghetti sauce seasoning) and then salt and pepper to taste.

2 lb ground chuck (hamburger)
1 large onion chopped large
1 large bell pepper chopped large
1 can kidney beans
1 large can whole tomatoes (you cut up)
1 can tomato sauce
1 cup dry macaroni
2 Tbs. chili powder
2 or 3 dashes worcestershire
garlic salt or salt/pepper
Brown meat (season with garlic salt/pepper) leaving rather chunky bites, add everything else except macaroni. Simmer awhile, add macaroni, cook until macaroni is tender, simmer on low until it's like ya want it.
(If ya want you can add the onion/bell pepper while browning meat- either way works).
That's how we eat it; very good, cheap, and easy.

God no. He's a complete idiot. Last year he did a christmas special and actually put the flavour and smell of christmas tree in the food. He makes things that should take 10mins to make last an hour. He talks a load of crap as well.
