My grandmother recently informed me that I shouldn't eat imitation bacon bits ever (not that I ever do, I don't like any bacon bits) because they are made from dried worms with flavoring to make them taste like bacon. Has anyone else ever heard this? Is it true?

That is simply absured. Though, I would rather eat a worm than an imitation bacon bit. They give me heartburn, they have a terrible aftertaste and real bacon is SO good.

Imitation bacon bits are made from soy but they DO have natural flavoring which I found to be bacon broth!

I have a sister in law that won't eat certain brands of hot dogs because they have "earthobate (spelling may be wrong)" in them. Which is supposedly made from earthly things (she says worms) but i don't know what exactly. However, I have seen it in the ingredients before. Maybe this is what your grandmother is talking about.

Imitation bacon bits are usually made with soy beans and flour.
Worms would cost more.

i does no longer imagine so like with imitation crab... I mean, what might want to the point of that be? they are an same cost as authentic Viscount St. Albans bits. i'm no longer effective yet i does no longer imagine so. verify the label.

ive never heard of it but i do like them. thats just nasty. i dont know that it is true. but ill keep eating my imatation bacon bits because they are good.
