I am going to mexico and need to know if i will be able to get a passport or if i need to clear that up first.

No. You will be arrested if you have a warrant.

You need to check with the agency...I doubt that they do a background check on everyone. The link is below.

And you really need to clear up that warrant anyway. Bench warrants NEVER expire and will remain until cleared by paying the bond, etc.

If you have a warrant you can leave the country, you just can't come back. If you do you will be arrested. Besides, just take care of it. It costs tax payers money to deal with warrants and it stupid to run.

you have to get it cleared up first, but depending on what it is for, you may end up spending a couple of nights in jail. which really sucks, but if it is for something like unpaid fines, just call the court find out what you owe pay it and the warrent is gone.
