All dollars are accounted for.
Each man paid 9 dollars, which equals $27
The cost of the room is $25.
$25 + $2 (on bellboy) = $27

Ask again. You seem to be unable to copy & paste an old riddle that a 6-grade math teacher gives to the kids for extra credit:
you wrote:
Each man gave out $30, then recieved $1 back, making nine dollars. $9 x the three men is $27, plus the $2 the bellboy has, equals $29... What happened to the last dollar?
Here is the original:
Okay, three guys were on the road and needed to stop at a hotel. They were short on cash, so they all decided to split one room.
The front desk guy charged them $30 for the night. So they each chipped in a $10 Bill.
After the bellboy saw them to their room and returned to the front desk, the front desk clerk remembered that there was a $5 dollar discount that day, so he gave 5 singles to the bellboy to return to the guests.
On his way up the elevator, the bellboy wondered how he would split the money up between the three of them. Because they had not tipped him, he figured he would keep two dollars to make the rest divide easier. After all they had no idea there was a discount.
So he gives them each a dollar back , which means they have now spent a total of $9 dollars each for the room.
$9 plus $9 plus $9 equals $27 plus the $2 in the bellboy's pocket makes $29.
Where did the extra dollar go?
And the riddle can end as such:
or, the riddle can be restated-
each guest spent $9. and they are each holding $1 in change. 9+1= 10.
10 x 3= 30.
Anyways, the answer (Question was erred and meaningless:):
The 3 travelers paid a total of $27, making $25 for the hotel and $2 for the clerk. There is no missing $1.

The cost of the room ended up being only $25. Each man after having received $1 back ended up paying $9. $9 times three men equals $27. They overpaid $2 which the bellboy pocketed. There is not a missing dollar anywhere in this problem. It's a trick. Nice try.

you should not add 2 to 27$ . you must add 3 to 27 . becouse that 2$ belongs to 27$ (25+2) . to tell you the trust i confused at first .
