Do you have experience with lenses that help to correct color blindness? I have been able to find very little information about these types of lenses.

I'm interested in knowing how well they work. (Does the wearer see a significant improvement in color distinction?)

Additionally, if you know of a brand name so I can do more research and find a doctor in my area that information would really be great!

Websites are also appreciated. I haven't had much luck googling.

Unfortunately there are no lenses to correct color blindness. There are only those who can help you to be able to distinguish more colors. You'll never be able to see more colors.

They work on a basis, that you have a different colored lens in each eye. Through this different information gets to your retina and therefore it is possible to "see" or distinguish better some colors.

I haven't tried it yet, but it would definitely be interesting to know more about it and hear some user experiences. One vendor is Cantor & Nissel with their product ChromaGen. -> http://www.cantor-nissel.co.uk/

I've never heard of them. Color blindness is a genetic abnormality of the cells that see color. Contact lenses can't correct a cellular deformity, so I wonder how effective they are.

Colormax is a leading brand name. The contacts let you tell colors apart, but do not actually let you "see" them. They just make one of the two colors that you can't see appear grayer so that you can differentiate it.

Here is a great site that talks about the effectiveness.

I typed "colorblindness contacts" into yahoo and found all kinds of great results.
Good luck.

I would not waste my time, Color blindness is a genetic defect, nothing will improve it significantly and there is no cure, and if you buy into its quackery and a waste of money, somone is going to take your money

LensCrafters is an "remarkable" place to purchase what you like for the eyes. in addition they can refer you to different places the place "your standards" could be met. In any experience, consistently attempt to artwork with respected places. you purely have "one set of eyes." Peace, Love and God Bless.
