Something simple 'eh? Seems like everyone has covered the basics but might as well put in my two cents...

Whenever you fear you'll get muscle inflamation from a hard days work usually just rest and maybe some Aspirin would help but if you want a sure-fire way to wake up in the morning feelin' fine here's my adivce, works like a charm every time.

When you get home and your muscles begin to tense up have a massage, a hot bath, drink tea and take an Aspirin, then go to bed and relax. If you're not 100% in the morning pop another Aspirin just to cover up the leftover pain, by the time the Aspirin wears off, your muscles will have warmed up so they won't hurt by lets say, uhh - "default" and you're set.

It is not a cure, but Ibuprofen temporarily eliminates the soreness. I hurt my back a while back and took some Motrin and the symptoms vanished enough where I could play a round of golf. It really only covered up the symptoms because when it wore off I was feeling even worse. It is good, just don't think your cured when the symptoms disappear.

Theres an over the counter medication called PTI which stands for pain, trauma and inflammation. If you do vigorous exercise and know you will be sore the next day you take it that night. When you wake up in the morning your muscles feel fine.

A massage is the best, but also simply a heating pad/ice packs alternating for about 20min each is great and top it off with a nice warm bath. very relaxing...
