I know two people now (my sister and sister in law) who before they were pregnant LOVED to watch scary movies. Now that they have had a baby they are scared out of their minds to watch a scary movie. Has this happened to anyone else?
I am just curious. I have always been the one who avioded scary movies and having four kids that hasn't changed. I still can't watch.lol. I am just seeing if there is a link.

Yes! I am always told I am silly, but since finding out I was pregnant, up to now(my boy is a year old) I just can't watch yukkee movies or programmes! I suppose it might be because babies are very in tune with mom's emotions, and I don't want him to wake up at the wrong moment and feel my fear? lol good question!

Love scary movies, before baby and after. Have been watching them since I can remember. I read my first Stephen King book in 2nd grade (Cycle of the Werewolf) because I liked the scary pictures, and I've never come across one yet that scares me out of my mind.

Now roller coasters are another story... I used to be able to ride them all day, but now some of the really high ones (like Drop Zone at King's Island, though not technically a roller coaster) make me a little queasy. I can still ride them, but that sick-to-my-stomach thing has only been there post-baby. I hope it doesn't get worse with each baby, cause I would miss it so much!

Everything sad, scary, disgusting, and wierd seems to affect me now more than before. I've always been an emotional person, but now, it's almost ten times more intense. I cry for other people, feel like gagging at Fear Factor, and yes, I'm also terrified sometimes during scary movies. If i'm at home, I don't even watch scary movies by myself, always have to have a "buddy" whether it's my husband, my son curled up sleeping beside me, or a teddy bear, I just need something to hold on to. lol.

my sister in law does not like to watch scary movies because she does not want her children to watch them. images can stay in someones mind for a long time, and she does not like her kids seeing bad images from tv.

They probably get afarid to watch it because they have children now and when they speak of or watch the movie they could be scaring their child.
