Energy security impacts on all other security aspects, like food security, economic security and social security. Too much expenditure on energy drains the economy and thus affects the growth of other sectors. Energy insecurity affects the nation politically since it needs to depend upon other countries for meeting its energy needs. Energy security also affects the country's ability to defend itself in war.

Well obviously if we can't produce energy we're going to need it from other sources and that's where the international market comes in. We buy and sell energy from other nations that need it or are in excess of it. Energy supply is a huge source of income and provides jobs for countless numbers of people. If we rely too heavily on other nations then we could get the short end of the stick when it comes to other negotiations. This could also be the other way around.
