I am happily married. I share everything with my wife, and we spend all of our spare time being best friends and parents of our son... Co-dependant; maybe, but we're happy that way...

So here's our (my) issue:

They've hired a new lady at work here. She's just out of tech school, and started here as an intern. We are a small company, and this lady and I both work in the office.

She's not a bad kid, but she keeps taking friendly office chat too far, and has began obviously flirting with me.

I am obviously married. I wear the ring - My wife comes to the office once or twice a month for what-ever reason - Often Lunch. My work area is full of pictures of my son and our family... I talk about my wife often and have even begun making the effort to mention my wife while talking with this lady.

Still, I feel like she's flirting even more than before... I have to work with this person, and I don't want to be rude or make either of our work lives hard...

Suggestions?

Tell her that you are married. In you conversations mention you wife and son and how happy you are. If that doesnt work just dont talk to her when she starts flirting.

You need to bring up (in conversation) your wife and son a whole lot. Shove it down her throat but in a positive way. What exactly is she doing that is so flirty. You might just have to ignore it. I'm sure a lot of it is attention wanting some sorta of reaction, good or bad!

Watch out, what you think is a flirt can lead to sexual harassesment complaints and that may have a serious impact on your career. Interospect and find out all that went on to get to a friendly chat. There is a fine line between business friendly and personal friendly chat. draw that line. Make her understand that you are not interested.

First of all, make sure she is flirting because men always think a woman wants them just because they smile and make eye contact.

Anyway, I'd just ignore it and keep conversations short and professional.

It must be intriguing you a little, but do not get carried away. This girl might just be a flirt with everyone and she might not even think twice about it.

Take her off to the side, in private and explain that her flirting is making you uncomfortable. If she persists, then do the same thing, but publically when she does it.
