It's a tradition that many couples choose to follow (my sister and several friends and I had the maid of honor and best man dance together for part of a song). But with many couples choosing to not have dancing, or no DJ, or destination weddings, there is no "rule" that the maid of honor and best man "have to" dance together.

Yes, in a typical, stereotype wedding, the MOH will dance with the best man right after the bride and groom have their first dance. There are no rules, however, that's just how the typical run of the mill wedding reception is scheduled. Feel free to do anything you want.

I was the maid of honor at my friends wedding in June, and she had a "junior bridesmaid" that was maybe 11, so she (the bride) didn't have a wedding party dance. So no, they don't have to dance together.

Usually they do the wedding party dance and the maid/matron of honor dances with the best man for that song.

Not exactly it depends. In some traditions you have a waltz and they all dance. But you need a dance coordinator. When my boyfriends best friend got married the DJ announced for the bridal party to get their partner and dance but my boyfriend being the best man instead dance with the bride and the maid of honor with her boyfriend leaving the groom with his grandma. It was great.

It's your marriage, so it's up to you whether you want the best man and maid of honour to dance. There are few strict rules governing the wedding - especially the evening do.

Generally yes, if you have a wedding party dance. The wedding party will dance with whomever they walked in the wedding with. However, it's your day, so change it up to best suit your needs!
Congrats and good luck!

sometimes yes sometimes no.

The last wedding I was at the bride and groom had the wedding party join in with them on their first dance. Most of the bridesmaid were married to the groomsmen so they danced together, but myself and another groomsman's spouses werent in the wedding party. We were happy to keep it uniform and dance together even though I was MOH and he just an attendant, but the bride rathered us dance with our spouses too.

Its up to you and what YOU want to do, no right or wrong on this one.

Have fun!

Yes, all the people in the wedding do. You should be able to put whatever behind you for one night! Dance with the guy!
