Jehovah God never (yes NEVER) destroys a people without first warning them of their sins and explaining how they can avoid punishment.
(Amos 3:7) For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the [preachers]
(2 Peter 3:9-10) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. Yet Jehovah’s day will come as a thief,
(Romans 2:4) The kindly quality of God is trying to lead you to repentance
(Isaiah 30:19) He will without fail show you favor at the sound of your outcry; as soon as [God] hears it he will actually answer you.
(2 Timothy 2:23-26) Further, turn down foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing they produce fights. 24 But a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all, qualified to teach, keeping himself restrained under evil, 25 instructing with mildness those not favorably disposed; as perhaps God may give them repentance leading to an accurate knowledge of truth, 26 and they may come back to their proper senses out from the snare of the Devil, seeing that they have been caught alive by him for the will of that one
This is a main reason that Jehovah's Witnesses refuse to debate trivialities with troublemakers. Their resources are limited and they absolutely MUST perform the warning work which the rest of self-described Christianity ignores!
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. 5 You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
(2 Peter 2:5) Noah, a preacher of righteousness...
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

Its a funny thing that people get so many ideas about God and don't understand the issues? For example Noah's day? Everyone on earth at that time had the opportunity to turn around and repent and get on the ark. Noah invited them, but they payed no note to him. And that was their mistake! God destroyed the people because of their badness. See Genesis Chapter 6 Also note that The angels that turned bad had relations with the daughters of men, that also caused a unnatural offspring, that was not in God's plans. See Jude 1:6 This is also what is happening today people are taking no note. see 2 peter 3:1-5
So what is the issue today? You will have to take sides? Either you follow and serve God or you do your own thing? Meaning you either choose life or you choose death or destruction. What will you choose? Study and live ? Example Had th people that perished in the last tsunami had known it was coming would they run to the hills or stay and watch? So either you want God's rule or you will follow mans rule? And if you think you know what is good for you then do it. See Jeremiah 10:23

Jehovah is a God of justice as well. He destroyed the unrepentant and wicked people in Noah's day and will do the same thing in the future when he will eliminate all wicked people from the earth. But God is a God of love as well, he won't torture someone forever and keep him alive forever. If you say that God will put someone in a fiery place of torment, and torture there forever LITERALLY, then basically you are saying that God is a TORTURER. If someone tortures you everyday, the rest of your human life, you don't call that person, a loving person. God will punish and annihilate the wicked people and will not give them everlasting life, that is their eternal punishment.
If you only live 20 years of your human life, and became a wicked person, is it fair to torture you not only 1 billion or 1 trillion years but forever, will you say that that is fair? If somebody lend you $20 and asked you to pay back $20 trillion for that, is that fair?
If you think that is fair, can I lend you $20?
Please also notice that EVERLASTING LIFE is only given to those who EXERCISE Faith in Jesus and his Father (John 3:16, John 14:1) and NOT to those who do not believe and are disobedient and wicked. So if you say that wicked people have everlasting life as well, then you are in conflict with Jesus' teachings.

God is love, but can be wrath. I like to put it as I love my kids, but when they do wrong I will punish them. I don't want them to do anything bad, but I cannot be there every minute of every day of their lives to make sure they don't mess up. But if they do and ask forgivness I forgive. God is the same way. He wants all to be in Heaven, but allows people to choose their own path even if it leads to destruction. If a person rejects God and His teachings, God allows them to go to the place they have chosen. The only recourse is to ask for forgiveness and try to never do those things again.

I think it can fluctuate according to how you think of him. Just as the mind can hold a positive or negative mentality, we can view God as either loving or wrathful. As for what God really is, well no one knows that for sure, but I would like to believe he is loving. After all, logically, why would he create us if he knew we were going to be a handful. Obviously he is all-knowing, so we didn't surprise him, and he knowingly gave us freewill. I'd say after looking through the logic of it, a process of elimination states that God has to be forgiving, which is in a sense love.

Does a loving mother ever punish her children? Why? To correct them; to improve their character; to punish them for disobedience. Does that mean she doesn't love them?
God can be wrathful, but the Bible also says he disciplines to the proper degree. Roasting and toasting someone eternally for a relatively short period of badness is excessive.

Your parents love you and want the best for you, but part of that means punishing you when you disobey them. God is the same way.

There is no discrepancy. The flood killed people. They were dead. Conscience of nothing at all.
When people die today. They are dead. Conscience of nothing at all.
No eternal torment in either scenario.
