I went on prednizone about two years ago for arthritis and gained around 30 lbs in two and a half months. I recently lost 15 lbs on the weight I gained, but I cannot seem to loose the last 10 or 15 lbs for the life of me. I work out and eat right and I just seem to remain the same weight. I have NEVER had a problem like this ever before and was wondering if anyone else has the same problem as me or is it just me? Please let me know! Thanks.

I have a friend in the same boat, she was on Pred many times for an allergic problem and she ballooned up. She has gone back to using the "Body for Life" program and it's working, but it IS taking longer.....You could look into some diuretics since the pred makes your body retain fluid.

ask your doctor. my Mom has problems with the same thing and is on predinisone at least once a year for her asthma and lung infections. I think prednisone causes water and sodium retention so water pills may be an easy solution along with exercise, but ask your doctor PLEASE.

It is more common than you think. Spend extra hours walking (it will also rebuild your bones), avoid salt and soda, avoid fried and greasy food, limit starches.
