It does a little, but if you can get to the gym and use the Seated Leg Press and the "Butt Buster" machines, they explicitly target those areas.
I know using the bike in which you sit back with your legs out in front of you, works your butt better than a normal bike.

Yes it can help, and here are a few tricks that i use to get an extra little bit from my work out on a bike. First i switch back and foreth on how my feet are angled (because it targets different muscles) so for about 5 min i push down on my toes which flexes my calves and butt, then I do 5 min pushing on my heels which works the thighs. Also I like to tone my butt while riding so i do 1 min of "butt clinches" lol it sounds funny but clinching your butt for 10 seconds really helps, do that in between changing foot position (this can also be done just sitting at work or watching TV). And lastly, make sure you have your resistance as high as you can handle. its better to go hard for a couple minutes and rest then to go at a medium pace the whole way. Just a little side note...if you really wanna see dramatic changes in your legs i would suggest doing some strength training...work on squats, leg presses, lunges, leg extentions, calve raises, etc. Good luck and keep going strong!

One stationary bike I had was no good. It wasn't much exercise.
But I found one at wal mart that has the arm's move and you get a workout. I was sweating and I have lost weight and tonned my legs. So stationary bikes are the best for women because we are working and cleaning and if you have a boy friend they take time to. So for me the bike is the best exercise.
You can turn up the music and sing and pump away.

Yes, try to rotate on your bike from standing up to sitting down for a minute or so each and try to rotate the speed as well. Try mabye a spinning class as well.

it would take a lengthy time period in case you do it leisurely. you should up the resistance and attempt to bypass exceedingly quickly. it particularly is a quickly toner. for sure you should replace your workout recurring recurring after 6 weeks because your body receives used to it.
