In literature, the term denotes the extent to which the characters and actions in a work of fiction exhibit realism or authenticity, or otherwise conform to our sense of reality. A work with a high degree of verisimilitude means that the work is very realistic and believable; works of this nature are often said to be "true to life:"

are you using that in relation to fiction or nonfiction?
the bible is real and it stands on its own without the help of fancy words to impress man.

Verisimilitude is a noun, not an adjective.

If you think that people
living in whales
living to be over 600 years old
walking on liquid water
healing blindness or diseases simply by touching afflicted
having superhuman strength simply because of a mullet
etc.

is "true to life", then you're as bad as the Christians.

I pity the fool that believes that the bible is verisimilitude in nature!

I did not find the characters to be very plausible at all. Take that Lot fellow. How many people do you know that would display that sort of faith in a capricious god?

Truth is of course verisimilitudinous. Lies could also have verisimilitudinous characteristics. Because the Bible is Truth, the Bible is verisimilitudinous (and more). Be wary of the verisimilitudes in the world - things are not always as they seem.

And thanks for the vocabulary word!

The noun is verisimilitude. What you want is the adjectival form, verisimilitudinous.

Well...you know well that today's bible is corrupted. Who would believe that Lot had s-e-x with his daughter, or that David was an adulterer, or that Jesus was divine; except a mentally retarded b-astard like you!

When I read the new testament and the words of jesus, I would think that you would have to have a pretty cold heart not to let his words ring true.
