I'm thinking it would be fun for my daughter to have a tea party at our home, but I don't know the first thing about putting it together...any ideas to make it fun? My daughter is six, and her friends would all be in the same age range. It's a 'just because' party....

Have your daughter help you make some cookies and little "tea sized" pb &j sandwiches. Serve some fresh fruit parfaits layered with yogurt and cereal to hit their sweet tooth. For an activity, have them decorate picture frames and take some pictures of them to bring home. Ask each girl to "dress up" and bring a hat to decorate.

By the time they eat and do their activities it will probably be time for everyone to head home. Sounds like fun! Hope it turns out for you :)

that's spring. bypass purchase a lot of annual plant life on your backyard, yet use them to decorate the room first. Use a china tea pot, and china cups , and use a coloured sheet over that you will be able to placed some nylon netting (that you may make into bathtub poufs or vegie scrubbers after) ... make finger sandwiches by technique of merely cutting the crust off common white bread and 'rolling each and each piece after putting some 'delicate' filling on it ... and serve 'princess cup-truffles' with a small doll contained in the course of each and every, yet also make a spectacular 'internet' skrt with some properly colored fabrics below, so the ladies could have some thing to 'keep in innovations their princess tea party' afterwards. the finished cost should be decrease than ten money, notwithstanding the innovations will very last an finished life!

I've never had a tea party or thrown one but i've worked with 4-6 year old kids so here's what i think... maybe you could have all the girls dress up like princess from diffrent "kingdoms" (crowns, nice dresses and the whole works) and have them bring one "friend" (thier own doll) and when they get to the party give them one of those fake diamond rings to make them feel all fancy... maybe decorate the place like a castle or something! and i don't know about the whole tea thing.. maybe instead you could give them ice tea so they wont burn themself (cuz befor u know it u'll have some angry mom at ur door!) and just let them play games till late, and maybe even make it a slumber party with a cinderella movie b4 bed time... i think they'll love the whole party thing! have fun planning and good luck keeping the house clean after!!!!

Kids parties where the kids get involved were always the most fun when I was little. Some ideas:
Let them decorate their own cupcakes - with coloured icing pens, m&ms, strawberry laces, berries, sprinkles etc
Let them help make things - cut out cookies with cutters, or even cut sandwiches with cookie cutters to make fun shapes
Let them decorate other things - paper cups, paper hats
Get them to all bring a toy 'guest' - like a teddy bear or a doll, and give them a place - and make sure they have their own paper hat too

Good luck!
