It can work but you won't make gobs of money right away. Also, be VERY careful selling for other people online. What I mean is, people will email you and ask you to sell for them, you sell it, collect the money and they ship the items. I did this and got screwed. I sold $4,000.00 worth of hard to find merchandise, then when it came time to ship they kept making excuses, then finally said the owner of the company died and I would have to email all my customers, refund all the money. I lost my Ebay business this way, people get pissed when they pay for something and it never comes. I had hundreds of positive feedback but after this the negatives flooded in and killed my business. Not to mention I lost all the listing fee money, etc. Very bad situation. So, be careful and don't list too much too quickly for someone you don't know.

I have'nt tried it, but have picked up stuff for cheap and resold it on ebay and you can make money at this. You could come across a cheap find and make good money. I sell on ebay and in the last week made almost 300. Just stuff I have picked up from different stores on sale and some used stuff. It can be done. But I would not go as far as working for them. You could make more money on your own. Good Luck

I'm really glad that you asked this question as my husband & I are thinking about doing it too.
A lady that I work with does it and she only puts in about 2 - 5 hours of work a week and makes about $2000.00 a month.
She goes to discount stores, buys things on sale and puts it on ebay. She only does clothes. Apparently there are some fees involved but it could pay your mortgage!

your best bet is to market merchandise you acquire and have at your disposal.

a friend of mine in the DFW area has made a killing of selling random things such as dog beds and aquariums on eBay.
