You where charged with a felony. You don't have to be convicted to not be allowed to have a gun. Apply for a gun license again may of 2012.

If you have never been convicted of a crime which you can serve a minimim of 1 year, then you are eligible to buy a gun. If you get no satisfaction from the authorities, hire a lawyer to research your case.

Go to your local state office with your discharge papers and they should be able to put your name back on the list to purchase a gun. This or course depends on what your conviction was for. For exaple and armed robber will never have his privalege returned. You should have got a paper from the state to restore your rights which inlcude right ot vote, right to hold political office and right ot bear arms.

Because of the arrest...was it by chance "domestic violence'? An accusation on record can disqualify you.

you should go the police station and tell them they can look up your record and see if its still on your record if its not get it printed up and then you can prove to whoever made the mistake
