I hear from some religious, saying that there's only one GOD in the whole universe. My question is, is it true that there is really only one GOD. To my understanding, I could be wrong. There GOD sent down 5 messengers to this world which is Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, etc, to send his teaching to the ppl. But the problem is various religious preach on different aspects of teaching. Or ppl were just trying to say that there's is one GOD in each religious, as far as I know only Christian preach more about GOD (father of Jesus). Is there really only one GOD. I apologise if I wrong, please advice?

It is like when you are hungry, it doesn't matter what you types of foods you eat, be it western or chinese, in the end you just want to fill up your stomach, right.

I don't want to confuse you but it depends on who you ask. As far as I know according to the big three (Judaism, Islam, and Christianity) they all worship the same 1 God. The Christians believe that Jesus IS God, the Jews think he was just a guy and the Muslims think he was a prophet - also please tell me if I'm wrong - they don't believe Mohamed was/is god just that he was/is the messenger. The God of all three however is the same one - the God of Abraham.
Some Buddhists believe Buddha was a god others (Buddha included) that he was a man seeking enlightenment.
Pagans would probably - though not all - say no its way more complicated than that and you have to include the very important female element into the discussion at that point too.
If you ask a Hindu (again correct me if I'm wrong) they would say they are all the same including the pagan gods and goddesses and i think its called Brahman.
My answer - which in its essence will offend at least the Christians who follow the ONE AND ONLY true God, is that it depends on who you ask your question to. There are as many answers as there are faiths and that's billions!

Even in the Bible, God is at the same time one and many. Hence, the Bible says "Let 'us' create man in 'our' image". And I think the word/name in Hebrew -- Elohim -- means the one/many entity.
I also like the Japanese Yen notion of awareness as being 'no' thing; as such, it is not seperate, experiencing both everything and one thing at the same time.
Just as all of our five senses are actually one sense -- awareness, which is not inherently seperate but becomes so by experiencing through the frameworks of the ear, eyes, etc, so too could individual awarenesses be individual because of the individual frameworks of the bodies. In other words, all of us as individual awarenesses could actual be a single (god's) awareness but seems seperate because of our seperate human forms. for them, we are all God but hiding from ourself.
So I agree that there is ancient lore in the world that supports the notion that all of these religions and their Gods could just be different frameworks of the same thing; just as Jesus is both God and not God at the same time.
But I am also wondering why you are asking anyone if you are 'right'. All they can tell you is their own interpretation of what God is. Judging from my own question posted recently, christians believe that each person's experience of God is personel. Follow your own path, not that of others; if God truly exists then he is already within you and it is there rather than out here that you will find your answers.

properly, even however I take offense to the define of Agnostic- "Agnostic=there's a God, there won't be a God, we won't be able to understand. The metaphysical fence sitters, metaphysical cowards, merely lazy, or do no longer care." i'm no longer a coward or lazy. in fact, i truly study a lot into the subject matter of Theology, and that i openly portray my ideals in this internet site and cover no longer something. i'm open to differing suggestions, and that i won't be able to stubbornly carry on with an thought that i understand to be incorrect-in assessment to maximum on right here. although, I even have in many situations puzzled if i'm in fact an Pantheist-as i'm further and further looking links between God and the Universe even however i've got self assurance God won't be able to be proved or disproved.

The truth is nobody knows. Has he or she ever appears in front of you. Don't just believe what had been been written a couple of thousands ago or to believe from your old folks saying there is/are gods watching over you. Their idea is to make u be a good boy or girl which i think may not be a bad idea after all.

There is only one GOD.
He has sent around 124000 messengers on earth and PROPHET MUHAMMAD (SAW) was a last one.
PROPHET MUHAMMAD(SAW) has said in his last sermon that he is completing the religion which ADAM (A.S) had come down with.
Every follower has his own beliefs but finally when you go through all of them, somewhere or other you will find incompletion. Only one is complete and will survive, its the one the whole world is behind to finish because its the TRUTH.

if you are talking about the gods that people are believing all over the world.yes, there are many gods.the hindus ,budhists, muslims and christians have differrent Gods.had they believed in one and the same God.their beleif would be the same.it doesn't mean that because their is food, everybody can eat that food.there is a food that you can eat but another can't.ex. you can eat pork, but surely muslims will never eat it.because when it comes to religion, not all food can be eaten.phisically it is food, but spiritually it is not.likewise with God.not because people talking about God,it is the same God,there are lot of gods in this world.but there is one true God.

Believing is to trust someone without reaching out for the truth.. When u does the above, then is call having FAITH.
When u believed in something that is base on Actually Fact u had seen, then this is call accepting the fact..
I believe there is GOD, Lord Jesus.. Yet to see him but I trust He is there becos of one important element FAITH.
God bless U.

Your idea is good and unifying, but there is no way we can know if it were true or not. We have no evidence for this. All we know is that you have this idea, so how can we start to believe that one god sent his messangers down to Earth?
My belief is that there is no god and it is because there is no evidence that supports god's existence.

A lot of religions advertise their version of God as the one and only "real" God, so I wouldn't expect too many unbiased answers. There could be one god, or two gods, or zero gods, or eleven thousand gods. Me, I prefer to believe that God will be as many Gods as you want him to be. He is supposed to be infinite, after all.
