Scotch pancakes or drop scone pancakes are small, thick pancakes that taste more like a cake really. Here's a picture:

well there has to be a difference, 1 the water 2 the flour 3 the eggs, and the scotch pancake is thicker, than the American pancake, it´s a bit like the bread every where you go it´s different

Because the eggs in the scotts pancakes were laid by scottish hens!
It's very easy to spot a scottish hen, she's the one chiping "Ock a doodle do"
