Would insurance companies consider the Yaris 2 door Hatchback a sport car and charge the insurance for a sport car? If so, what kind of difference is there in between that and charging inurance on a sedan with a v6?

The Yaris is considered a very entry-level and basic-transportation kind of vehicle--nothing even remotely like a sports car. It's also one of the least expensive cars available, and any sedan with a v6 is bound to be more costly. Since the cost of insurance is generally related to the cost of the car, I'm sure the insurance charge for the Yaris would be considerably less than for any v6 sedan (unless the other car is used and several years older).

No...a "sports car" surcharge is based on the horsepower of the vehicle. So unless the Yaris has a whole lot of horsepower, then I doubt it....

neither....the insurance company would charge you for the car as a wagon v6. anything with a hatch should be charged as above
