+ Homosexuality +

The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.

Unmarried cohabiting couples, whether heterosexual or homosexual, are living in sin.

+ Adoptions +

The issue at hand is that Catholic adoption agencies in the England and Wales handle about one-third of all private adoptions.

The Catholic Church regularly places orphans with married (heterosexual) couples. People who are living as our religion believes God intended.

There is a new law taking effect in April that says that the adoption agencies will have to place children with homosexual couples.

Catholics believe that not only it is not in the best interest of the child to place them in an environment of immorality and sin that if they follow the law then they themselves will be sinning in the process.

Catholic doctors are not forced to perform abortions. Catholic prison workers are not forced to execute prisoners. Catholics are not forced to commit what they believe to be sinful acts in any other part of society.

What happened to freedom of religion?

+ With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church (which is not a cult but a worldwide Church) has as much right to its beliefs and ethics as any of the correspondents on this page. You can't accuse people of bigotry when you yourself are displaying the same qualities. If anyone wants to disagree with children being adopted by gays that is their right. It's called democracy.

And of course they try to blackmail the British government - do what they want or they'll close the orphanages and stop running several charities that support the homeless, etc.

I certainly don't think they should get an exemption. I don't think any religion should. There seem to be a ridiculous number of religious homophobes who think homosexuality is the same as beastiality and paedophilia. When everyone knows that the Church has more than its share of paedophiles.

Since God forbids homosexuality on pain of death (remember he wiped out 2 cities because of it) how can any believer (xtian, mohommedan or Jew) do anything else.

In any case, does anybody think of the children? I for one would have been ashamed if I'd had to admit in school that my (2 male) parents were sexual perverts and condemned to eternity in Hell.

I Think you're Question is "Muddled" -- If you are referring to their Refusal to go along with "Same Sex" Parents Adoptions--- This is Not a Natural Situation for any Children -- but something which has been "Forced" on the Nation by the Misguided , Moronic "We Know Best" Brigade ........And is "Wrong"

Quite frankly, I don't see why any homosexual couple would want to adopt through the Catholic adoption agency when the Catholic denomination specifically do not agree with homosexuality.

The history of the catholic church is riddled with murder, rape, extortion, bigotry, child molestion, etc. In fact, I believe they invented most of the horror we see today. But, some people insist on following their doctrine. I think all religions should be taxed. There popularity is waning and if you put a tax on them, they would be out of business in 5 years, Then the world would be a much better and more peaceful place. Down with religion.

That Cult is special because the head office is a recognized COUNTRY called THE VATICAN.

Members of that CULT just COULD consider themselves members of the Cult ABOVE being citizens or residents of the UK!

They are still trying their best to COVER UP the homo stuff.

they're saying that their law of god is more important to them than the laws of the country!
If they want to be able to discriminate than we should be able to discriminate against them....but no, they wouldn't like that!
Why should they be allowed to discriminate? if they want to do that they can go back to the Vatican!
As for the children adoption thing...they're saying that their 'morals' are more important than the welfare and well being of the children they supposedly look after!
