Take a moment and think about this.

When is the right time to tell your mate you have herpes?

How long from the time you know that they are interested?

What if you really really want to just hit it and quit it...do you tell them?

Even with all this info out about the disease..are people still reacting devistating?

I AM NOT A BOT! Serious replies please.

Yes, you need to tell them even if you "just hit it and quit it". You have to take precautions. I wouldn't tell them right off the bat but I wouldn't wait until it got TOO serious, either.

This is not a death sentence and I really don't know why somebody would react like they were devastated.

From the moment you know that the relationship is getting serious you should say something. They should get to make the choice of staying or leaving.
If you don't want to tell them right out that you have it then talk about it with the person and see how they react, then you'll know by there reaction what to do. Whether it maybe to go on further or just leave it where it is and stay friends. If the person does not react badly about it and seem like they wouldn't mind going steady with someone that has it, then you should feel free to go right ahead and tell the person that you do.

Tell them soon as soon as they relationship takes a sexual leaning. Yes you must tell them if you want to hit it and quit it. How do you feel about the person who gave it to you, would you want to do this to other people, I hope not.
Any disease is devastating.
Be smart please, learn how to protect those you instead to sleep with and always give them the option of an informed decision.

My best friends bf cheated on her and he contracted Herpes when he cheated and she stayed with him. I personally would have left but everyone is different. It depends on the maturaty level of the person you are dating and if all you want is sex be honest and give them a option to say yes or no. It would be so dangerous to not say anything and you happen to pass it on and they get so angry that they come after you.

I think you should tell them as soon as you decide to have sex. It is the right thing to do. Even if it's a one night stand.

I think it is you who needs to think about this. How did you not protect yourself to end up with this in the first place? If you don't tell the person you are interested in and he gets it he can go to the police to report you for grevious bodily harm. You have to tell him and then it is up to him if he likes you enough to risk it. Please use a condom in future.
