where can I find something to cover the glass to a front entry door with out damaging the wood.?

I do not want people to see light in side the house.

There is a solution, window frosting that makes the window look frosted rather than just plain glass. This solution works very well when you want to keep the light but distort the view. You could probably pick up a kit at Home Depot or Lowes, or have a handyman do it for you.

You can purchase covers at lowe's. They are window sized stickers to cover glass or you can purchase the paper blinds that you can cut to size. It also just sticks to the glass. You can also order real blinds that lets no light in. Otherwise, the only thing i can think of is covering it with fabric.

The easiest is to place the dark film used in cars on the glass, or paint it.
