Hey CC. Well, it sounds like a good cut is exactly what you need.
As for it being oily? Well, that could be one of many things or a combonation of a couple different things. I'm sure you've tried all sorts of shampoos but I'll ask if you're using professional shampoo or drug store. I'm not a big pusher on salon products, really, but I DO believe that drug store products are filled with either wax or alcohol in order to sell them at cheaper prices. The wax will weigh your locks down and the alcohol will dry it out so either way, you're best to go to someone who doesn't "push the products" but knows thier products and what ingrediants are in them.
As for your perms not holding up....are you on any type of medication? Medication of any sort can coat the hair so perm solutions (yes, even the strongest!) won't penetrate through that barrier. Go to a recommended stylist, see what he/she has to say and it wouldn't hurt to drop by your doc's office to rule out any health probloms with your scalp. He/She may be able to perscrible you something that would help you out.
Good luck! Let us know how you get on!!

The usual reason for the perm dropping is that you wash your hair too quickly after getting it. It needs 36-48 hours to finish processing before you wash it.

It's also possible that hormones are a major problem for you. If you have too much testosterone, your hair can thin. Part of the reason for hair being so wonderful during pregnancy is that the progesterone in your body is so high that your hair doesn't fall out as readily as normal.

If you're washing your hair everyday, you're probably over-stripping your hair. Try washing every 3rd day and using a spray-in conditioner everyday.

If you're looking for a good hair cut, try the swing. It's a blunt cut (all one length so you get more fullness) that's a little shorter in the front and a little longer on the sides. That makes the hair have more body and it "swings" nicely as you move.

If perming isn't helping, then the other option is color. Color plumps up the hair strands and makes each one thicker. You can color your hair the same as your natural color and get the same result as a perm. Your hair has more thickness and body, just not the curl. Then you just need to touch up your roots every month.

As long as you're not nursing, you can also use Rogaine shampoo. It will cause new hair growth to increase the number of hairs on your head. It's not a perfect solution, but it does work very, very well.

With your perms, you didn't wash your hair that same day did you? You have to let the chemicals set in for at least one full day even sometimes up to 2. As for your everyday hair, seems that you wash your hair tooo much. Try every 2-3 days and when it gets oily use a dry shampoo, (you can get them at a beauty supply place). Also try not to brush your hair unless you are trying to style it. Brushing sometimes causes damage, use a wide toothe comb when your hair is damp.

Its specifically made for hair like ours and its the only product that will work. You can ask any stylists they will tell u this to.

if your frequently straightening your hair you need to be using something to protect your hair. Got 2 B (4.00)makes a good protectant that you can use while your hair is wet to protect from the heat of the hairdryer and your straightner,

never brush your wet hair with a regular hairbrush either always use a wide tooth comb for wet hair.

I promise you this is what youll have to do. youll see a differewnce in 2 days.

You dont have the right hair for a perm then. Do to your hair person and ask them what you can do about it. They will give you some great tips on certain shampoo's and treatments to do. Good luck!
