I have a darling chihuahua that I thought had been scratched by the cat on top of her head. I've been feeling a rough spot. Then, last night I saw it was a perfectly circular lesion. I just KNOW that this scrawny kitten my son brought home twenty three days ago is the cause, but my son says he doesn't think so as it would have shown up way before this. Also, the kitten doesn't appear to have ringworm although her fur isn't exactly luxurious. Do you think new kitten could be the cause? Just seems too coincidental that we've never had ringworm problems until this new kitten enters the household.

Yes the kitten probably gave the dog ringworm. To check for it on the kitten you can get a hand held black light and shine it on the fur. The ringworm (a contagious fungus) will appear green on the fur. I would go to the vet a.s.a.p. You can get ringworm also from the kitten.

Yes and you can also get worms and impetigo from your kitten as well. I would take her and your dog to the vet to find out what exactly it is and to get her treated for parasites and get her her shots.
