Stay off Disney property, but nearby. I recommend the Best Western Lakeside Resort in Kissimmee. It is a very nice resort with several pools, a miniature golf course, decent buffet-style restaurant, friendly staff, and an arcade/game room. And you can rooms as low as $59 a night. Its located on Hwy 192, just 3 minutes from the Animal Kingdom on-ramp and 7 minutes from the rest of the Disney parks.

I agree with Rudy-2 is too young for Disney and 5 is barely old enough. We were just there for New Year's, and I can't believe how expensive the food is! It's not a place to go broke--regardless of what the commercials say. The truth is, every toddler I saw there was either crying or sleeping! It is an exhausting trip, and they just don't have the stamina for it. I do think it is a wonderful place to visit, but it is very costly. My BF and I don't eat very much, and we spent about $100/day on food and drinks (2 adults). Get a Disney Credit card and build up some points you can use to decrease the costs of your trip.

If you are truly "broke," then why would you use money for an expensive vacation? It seems like your financial priorities are out of whack, which might be why you are broke to begin with.
Believe me, DisneyWorld is not cheap, no matter what kind of package deal you get. There are always little extra things that eat away at your money. Why not take the kids to a Build-A-Bear workshop and then out for pizza? Kids at this age would enjoy these activities and it wouldn't break the bank. Then later, when you're more financially stable, you can go for a mroe expensive vacation. But right now, it is ridiculous to go to DisneyWorld with little money and a 2 year old.

Try Expedia.com. They're having great deals right now. I also plan on going in April and for my boyfriend and I to go it is around $1,800, but that includes round trip flight, six nights in a hotel, transportation to the parks, and a five day park hopper ticket with the water parks and more included.
Check it out.

Kids are too young. Most of the rides and stuff you need to be older. Wait till they are 8 and 5. This will give you time to save up for it cause you don't want to scrimp by at Disneyland!
