No. If you can't work out why, take a math course.

Because the first century was years 1-100. Centuries did not start with the year 100. Therefore:
1st 1-100
2nd 101-200
3rd 201-300
4th 301-400
5th 401-500
6th 501-600
7th 601-700
8th 701-800
9th 801-900
10th 901-1000
11th 1001-1100
12th 1101-1200
13th 1201-1300
14th 1301-1400
15th 1401-1500
16th 1501-1600
17th 1601-1700
18th 1701-1800
19th 1801-1900

The first century started with the year 0. So the second century had to start with 100, 3rd century 200, and so on until you get to 2000 = the 21st century.
(Some people would say the centuries start with 101, 201, 301, etc., so that 2001 was the beginning of the 21st century.)

Years 0 thru 99 were the i'st century. So when the year 100 arrived it was called the 2nd century. When 2000 arrived it is called the 21st century.

When you say you are 20 years old, it means that you have celebrated, and therefore completed, your 20th year of life.
Once completed, you now begin to live in your 21st year.
I'm 58 now, but this is my 59th year of living, even though it is not yet complete.
The 20th century is behind us, completed.
We now are living in the 21st century.

I think you need to talk to your teachers, either past or present.
The first century was from 1 to 100AD. The 10th Century was from 901 to 1000AD, the 11th Century from 1001 to 1100. And the 21st Century from 2001 to 2100.
They didn't start counting with century 0.
BTW.... it's "AREN'T" not arnt.
