when frozen milk thaws it tastes funny and like ice because as you say it seperates so I would say you CAN freeze it but it just isn't the same afterwards

Yes you can, it will look a bit off when frozen, because it does separate, but when it's thawed give it a good shake then it will be OK.
It actually says on some containers that it is suitable for freezing, but not all. Oh, if you mean milk in glass bottles, transfer it to a suitable container for freezing, ie plastic. If you are buying large 4 or 6 pt containers it might be more convenient to transfer to smaller containers for freezing.

You know I've never tried it but I'd think the milk won't take all that great after it's been frozen. I drink it a lot so there's no need in me having to freeze it. It's gone by the time the expiration date comes around. Well mine is which is the fat free but not the fattening milk since my husband isn't all that crazy about milk. I won't take a chance in freezing it.

Yes you can freeze milk. When we lived in Maine, we would buy 4 or 5 gallons at a time and put them in the freezer. When you take them out just run cold water over the gallon of milk or let thaw in your frig.

If your intent is to store milk by powdered milk. Freezing milk allows separation of the water from the milkfats because these compounds freeze at different temperatures.

In the States you can, and the milk will only pick up smells from the freezer. Remember that our milk is full of hormones and treated with all kinds of stabilizers that may not be legal at all in the EU.
I was in Deutschland for a while and didn't refrigerate my milk and it didn't go sour like U.S. milk does. Weird.

Yes, you can. I often buy too much milk and before "best before date" I freeze it. Then I can bake bread, make pancakes and so on with that milk.

I agree with the two answers above, BUT if you do freeze it, tip a bit out 1st, as it will expand as it freezes & split the carton.
