Did you worry they might not had a roof over their heads or a hot Meal last evening while you were sitting in front of a tv? Get real society the va says they are running out of money to even patch up our military men? So You now tell me what is the difference?

I certainly don't... I served 15 yrs in the Navy and we OFTEN joked that prisoners in California Prisons had it MUCH better than we did when we were deployed at sea.

Congress assigns the money... I think THEY shouldn't get a pay raise for the next decade or so

To most of this I would agree. You make one poor comparison though. You talk about a roof over their head. A prisoner is being held OUT OF society. A vet shouldn't be kept out of society trying to reform in that sense. So you can't really compare the idea of a roof over the head.
