You are right in not making big deal about it so that she will feel comfortable in talking to you about these things. Right now her crush is harmless, in fact it might just be a best friend sort of thing. My daughter is 7 and there was a boy she wasn't getting along with, then they resolved their problems and became good friends. Her face would absolutely light up if we happened to run into him, and she would talk about him a lot. He moved away. She started talking about this little girl all of the time, then we went to an event at the school and my daughter and this girl's faces just lit up when they saw each other. They were giggling and whispering and doing what little girls do when they become best friends, and I realized that before the boy had moved, he had been my daughter's best friend. At this age, it's not about being in love and all that, it's about friendship. Just tell her that everyone should get the same Valentine's present so that nobody gets hurt feelings and leave it at that, and don't nag her about being too young and all that, her feelings are not the same as they will be when she's a teenager and gets that first, heart-breaking crush. Good Luck.

She's only 7 so its just a little crush and its normal its nothing to be worried about. Just let them hang out together. If she wants to get him something nice for valentines day then have her make a homemade valentines day card.

This is normal and she isnt mature enough to have any sexual feelings this is just puppy love. Don't make a big deal about it. My daughter is 10 and some of the girls are starting to call boys and getting very agressive this is when you will need to nip it in the bud.

I think you must not fear anything . At this age she thinks of him only as a nice school friend . You can show her that there are other nice boys and girls in school and in the surrounding and that she will meet many more . Do not stop talking with her so as to know how she thinks.

I wouldn't try to make her feel like she is doing something wrong. At this age, it's all innocent. They don't have the "drive" yet. Let her enjoy her first crush! She will remember this for the rest of her life. It won't harm her any. Even if she gets her first little heart break. It's a learning experience. It's healthy!

She's 7...relax. so she has her first crush. Take her to the dollar store to buy her little friend a gift. Chances are he's at the stage where girls are yucky and you will have nothing to worry about.

dating means something very different at 7.
let it go.
it's normal.
don't blow it all up into something.
talk to your daughter about sex (separately) and the consequences and birth control and stds and things like that.
starting now so she knows what's going on.
little crushes are normal.
