I have met him in person, and I agree with his philosophy towards dogs 100%. Execise, Discipline, then affection, along with rules, boundaries and limitations are what dogs need. Use the other links to access his website and contact him. I hope he can help you, but Cesar isn't your only option. Find a good trainer/behaviorist in your area, that practices Cesar's method to help you with your dog if you don't get a response from him.

I don't think you can really compare the two. Cesar is a behaviorist, and Stillwell is a trainer. Two different things. Although while training, Stilwell adresses the behaviors. When Cesar is controlling the behaviors, he is not training. He never claimed to be a trainer. I have watched both shows. Although I do agree with a lot of Cesar's core beliefs and he does good work. Some of his methods are very dangerous to the inexperienced handler. Even he has been bitten on his show. I have no doubt that he has saved many dog's lives that would have been put down. Common people watch his show and think they know how to cure that dominant and agressive dog, they try to pin the dog down and wonder why they get bit. On the other hand Stilwell's main concern is safety. For the human first then the dog. This is how it should be. She also stresses that you need to be the "leader". But her methods are less confrontational and safer for the handler while still gaining control and addressing aggressive behavior. Also, she actually trains the dog. Sit, Down, stay, come, ect. Things Cesar does not do.

I have not met him but I have watched his shows and read his book. I own an Akita who is 95% well behaved. However, the other five percent is not and this scares me. My dog is big and is still getting bigger. I have now learned to use the techniques that Cesar Millan uses and I can honestly say my dog is 98% okay. He has changed greatly due to the tips Cesar gives.
I reccommend you go to his webpage on the internet, just type in Cesar Millan or Dog Whisperer and you can find the site.

Cesar has a book called "Cesar's Way" and several training DVD's which you can find on his web site and at some stores.
Also there is a yahoo group for people who follow Cesar's method for training and rehabilitating dogs, they are extremely helpful, knowledgable people, http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/DogWhispererFans/

You can try finding a pet behaviorist in your area as to having him come out or you go to him. You can try having a private trainer work with the problem.

"Seek the advice of a trusted veterinarian to rule out any physical or neurological problems and request a referral for a dog psychologist or behaviorist.

When you meet calm-assertive dog owners, aka Pack Leaders, ask them how they achieved calm submission in their well-balanced dogs.

Locate and contact veterinarian schools and accredited dog behavior colleges to inquire about programs and volunteers and to request a list of graduates.

Dog trainers and obedience class instructors may be able to provide contact information about other local professionals who practice dog psychology in addition to traditional training methods.

Local breeders sometimes work in conjunction with dog trainers and behaviorists to help new owners or people who have the same breed.

Contact dog daycare facilities, groomers, walkers and pet sitters for references.

Try an internet search with key words such as dog psychologist, dog rehabilitation, dog behaviorist and dog trainer.

Look in the telephone directory (usually yellow colored pages).
Contact your local animal care services, humane society and rescue groups.

Personally I do not see what everyone is thinking his a miracle worker. I try watching a few episodes and I don't think he's all that personally. To me a lot of what he is doing is common sense and basic training methods. Some of the way he handles the situations are kind of poor and i'm surprised they allow it. I think this is a fad and it'll eventually die out.

That's my opinion. If a person likes him great that's them. In the end that's what matters. Good Luck.

As Rita_Alabama mentioned, Cesar is not taking on any new clients, but he does run the dog psycholgy center and has many staff members who arel trained in his methods, it wouldn't hurt to contact them.

If your dog is aggressive please don't try Cesar's methods yourself, the theories he uses are very dangerous, and could result in a bite to you or physical damage to your dog.

Personally, I believe that dogs naturally look to us for leadership, and if we do not know how to "dog-speak" they won't know what we want from them.

Before trying and of the "ground and pound" tactics of Cesar Milan, I suggest reading one of my favorite books "The Dog Listener" by Jan Fennell. She is an acclaimed dog behavioralist from the UK and her book can be found at any large bookstore.

Good Luck!

First, move to LA.
Otherwise read his book.
For the most part I agree with is philosophy of the pressure of the pack to get a dog to conform.
But he doesn't seem to give enough credit to the intelligence of individual dogs.

I am not one hundred percent positive if this is where you can find information to contact him or not. I was looking and it said something of the sort in the dog psychology center.

This is his website. Best of luck to you and your baby.

All dogs can be rehabilitated, just not all humans are so open for suggestion.

I never have, but I watch his show. I think you just have to go on his website and send him an e-mail explaining what your dog's problem is. I'm not sure what his website is but if you type his name into the search I'm sure you will find it.

Good luck!
