and then having a large reception when we come home. Is it okay to include where we are registered in the reception invitations?

Some consider it in bad taste to include that information in the invitation. What about setting up a little website at theknot.com or weddingchannel.com with info and directions to your reception and links to your gift registries and then send the link to you wedding website in the invitation instead?

You only include gift registry information on bridal shower invitations. As for wedding invitations most people would find that to be in bad taste and to be greedy. You may just ask a few relatives to put the word out that you have registered for gifts and where,then hope for the best. Just be thankful people thought enough to celebrate your marriage with a gift.

I don't see why not. You are after all getting married and having a reception afterwards.

It is the height of tackiness to include any reference to gifts in any invitation. The idea is that you are asking people to join in your celebration, and not that you expect them to furnish a present.
