It's a little of both. You lead him on a little by saying you'd think about it. To some guys "think about it" is another way of saying you'll go but it is very immature of him to act like this. If he's going to be anything in the military, he's going to have to get over himself.
From this I think that more of the fault lies with him. Don't think bad of yourself for it. You never told him that you'd go.

he could be being immature about it, or he mite just b a

is. tell him u didnt mean 2 hurt him, but u just see yall as no
more than friends! he mite understand better if u actually talked
2 him!!

DO not worry about it! I think you did the right thing by not leading him on and going with him. He doesn't see it that way but give it time and he might. He feels rejected and probably embarrassed but it happens and hopefully he will get over it. It can't be easy to talk to you right now or look you in the eye.

Of course it's not your fault you did the right thing by telling the truth and if he wants to get mad over something stupid like this let him he needs to grow up and start respecting peoples decisions.

its not your fault for telling how you felt. you didnt want to send mixed messages and didnt want to be more than friends. i think he is the one who is being totally immature about the situation-if hes gonna be like that then dont even worry about it.

a note is very impersonal and the written word leaves a lot of room for interpretation. You should have talked to him about it. I don't' blame him for being a bit bruised

I think he's just feeling rejected. Give him space and time. The best thing was for you to be honest, however, you need to consider his feelings as well. When he's ready to talk to you, he will.

Either you hurt his feelings, or embarressed him- or, he is immature and unable to be rejected.
Guess he thought of you differently.
