I have noticed that many answers to questions are nothing more than a quote from the bible. I wonder why this is. Does the person have no original thoughts. Why don't you use your own brain and give an interpretation of the scripture instead of quoting it directly? If you want to quote the bible. Then atleast discuss your quote. When I see someone quote the bible i simply skip over the answer.

It is because they are brainwashed. They can not interpret and think for themselves. They are safer not ever reading the Bible and taking it to heart. They can skim it if they want, but literal beliefs in it are nothing but dangerous. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we were all free thinkers, instead of slaves to other peoples ideas?

When one quotes from the bible, there's a high chance that they may be Christians, and being in this religion, is about having faith and believing ie taking the saced book as truth, which does not need to be explained. It's just right, there's no need to debate hence, no need for explanations. Dont just skip over, try to understand why the writer chose that quote. FYI, im not one of the quoters.

Well, you repeat what you remember from history books when the subject comes up, and you draw upon your memory of math books in order to find the circumference of a table or the length of drywall you'll need for an area.
It always amazes me that only reading or citing the BIBLE is cause for calling someone uneducated and unoriginal, when its validity has been proven archaeologically, historically and scientifically. Automatically discrediting the bible because of the friends' opinions, especially if one has never studied it (and I don't mean going to a church service and flipping through it), is pretty unoriginal. Not exactly 'outside the box'. Be open-minded, not empty-minded.

Perhaps it is because the Bible puts speaks succinctly for the person answering the question.
Perhaps it's because the person recognizes the superiority of God's words over their own.

Perhaps they are referencing a power higher than self. If one gives one's think so's over Jesus's say so; are they not putting self above Jesus? Taking others say so's is one thing dividing 'Christianity' in the USA now.

The Bible is the word of my heart and how I live my life--sorry if you can't handle it.

If you ask a doctor a medical question would you be offended if he referred to a medical book for answers. Or would you want him guessing about your diagnosis?
