We could never imagine how we might react or respond if we met the Lord after his return. I'm sure we would experience a level of emotion and love that can't be put into words.

But if you were to imagine a response, what do you think it would be like? One of my favorite songs is by MercyMe entitled "I can only imagine". The lyrics are simple, but the song and thought behind it is beautiful. :)

It's funny that you said "Imagine" is one of your favorite songs. This is exactly what popped into my head when I read your question. I have the CD and I play it over and over again. I often ask myself this same question. "What will my response be?" I know that often when I am in prayer and feel the presence of the Hoy Spirit, that I feel humbled in heart and am moved to tears of wonder and awe. I believe that this would be my response...probably in a much more intense level.

Since the level of emotion and love to be experienced on that wonderful meeting are beyond the level of understanding that we humans presently have, I will try to answer the question on a strictly human basis. That is all any of us can do anyway.

Perhaps I would say something like this: Hello Jesus. I am so glad to finally meet you in person. I have heard so much about you. Do you have a few minutes? I have a bunch of questions I've been dying to ask you. (And I do!)

it extremely is extraordinarily difficult to describe with out resorting to the Bible, provided that -- in case you agree for that it extremely is inspired -- it extremely is the only authoratative source we've for awareness the character of God. That mentioned, the Bible does no longer truthfully state the doctrine of the Trinity. it extremely is, in spite of the easy fact that, shown on the baptism of Jesus (Matt. 3:sixteen-17) the area you have Jesus, the Spirit visibly descending and the voice of the father proclaiming Jesus to be His Son. in any different case, the assumption is hard to describe diverse than by skill of utilising analogy. indoors a 4 dimensional universe, character, even in spite of the easy fact that it may desire to assume diverse roles, is constrained to one physique. yet God's existance isn't limited to the 4D universe. he's infinite, the two suffusing and transcending fact as we % it. Being God, he's a 'great-character', to coin a be conscious; the archetype of all diverse personalities (i think of it extremely is what it ability that we are 'made in His image'.). it does no longer, as a result, look unusual (to me, a minimum of) that His direct interaction with us, His creation, is indoors the variety of three diverse and coequal, yet unified persons.

I to so loved the song It was played at my daughter's funeral. Everyone tells me I will meet my Daughter first with her replying, Hi Daddy, what took you so long? Then I will thank the Lord for receiving an Angel as beautiful as her.

Let's consider John. When Christ appeared to him in Rev., he fell flat, and this was the disciple that was very close to Him, even reclining on Him at meal time.
If he had THAT kind of reaction, well, I suppose I wouldn't be any better.
Remember when Isaiah saw the Lord, he said he felt "undone".

I don't think that I would have any memories of this life or any friends or family. But to be in the presense of God - the Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ would be a feeling of total peace.

A type of peace that we will never feel here or in this life.

If I met the lord, I would hope that I had the Bride's Hattori Hanzo sword for it is written that "if, on your journey, you should encounter god, god will be cut."

Of course the sword is not real, the Bride is just a character in a movie, and the lord is just a character in a book.

I imagine my response to be falling down as if dead at His feet. I think that no man can stand in His unbridled Glory except He prepare them to do so. We are creatures of worship and I think it will be quite impossible to do otherwise.

I would ask Him to please forgive me for all the bads I've done in the past. But to be honest, the only bad things I do now is drink on the weekends and have premarital sex with my boyfriend, but we are both commited to one another and have been together for 9 years, and we aren't living together. I know that doesn't excuse it, but that's what I would say.
