Reading helps the mind grow and strengthen itself. It adds nutrition in a sense- if you don't use it, you'll lose it. Exercise allows the body to grow and maintain health, and also if you don't use it, you'll lose it. You need both to keep a strong body and mind to function properly. Without one, what good is the other?

Reading strenghtens the mind as does exercise does to the body. Reading adds knowledge (if you read the right stuff) and exercising adds mussle (if you work out the right way).

Reading makes the brain "stronger" as you learn more and more. Exercise makes the body stronger. Both things are good for you and help you improve as a person.
