Being that my birthday, anniversary with boyfriend, and Christmas fall into the same sort of time period, I know what situation you are in. I have to admit, even though I tell him (my bf/common law hubby of 10 yrs) every year, that he doesn't have to do anything major for my b-day, and that I'd understand... I am still honestly feeling a little disapointed when I don't get much. I mean, it isn't my fault I was born at the end of the year at Christmas time! I don't get chincey on his, and he's born near Valentines. It depends on your financial situation. If you two are going through rough times financially, she won't hold anything against you. But if it is your first anniversary, Valentines, or 5th... it better be special. Ditto for special birthdays. Anniversaries should always include a fabulous dinner... if not out, then at home, by candlelight, with flowers. Just make sure that whatever you do this year, it's not untoppable, because she may expect you will do the same, if not more next year!

For your anniversary get a picture frame and put an old picture of you guys together in it because it is appropriate for an anniversary to look back on the times you had together. For Valentine's Day just get her a bouquet of her favorite flowers and a box of chocolates. Her birhday is the only one that I would focus on getting her something that she has expressed desire in having. Her birthday is the only one that is less about celebrating the two of you together and more about celebrating her life.

I have almost the same prob with you too. My b'day is next month, Valentine, and then his b'day, and finally our wedding anniversary. I would prioritise what's most important and celebrate the rest as 2 in 1. In your case, I'd put birthday and anniversary together. Then celebrate valentine in a more special way, in case she get a little disappointed over her 2 in 1.

I feel that it's not the amount that you spend as much as how much love and thought was put into each special time that you share.Think about this a women likes to be thought about all the time not just on special occasions. just a little card out of the blue or one single rose, those are the things that matter the most not the amount spent.

I think you can probably follow her cues for the anniversary and Valentine's Day - after all, she's also in a position to have to buy you gifts for those two events as well. Maybe you could try to feel her out for those two things.

As for her birthday, take your cues from what she bought you for yours. Don't penalize her because her b-day falls so near the other two events.

my BF has the same problem, first christmas then my birthday, then valentines day and then our anniversary. We have come to the conclusion, that we go all out for christmas, he takes me to dinner for my bday and valentines day and then for the anniversary he spends the most money on getting me something really nice. Good Luck

Why not just get one nice gift to celebrate all 3 occasions? Maybe an overnight stay at a bed and breakfast or a nice dinner?
