Muslims (and Islam) say Jesus was a prophet but they reject all His teachings ....that is hypocrisy.

They reject Christ's diety;
they deny his claim to be the Son of God;
they deny his death on the cross...
they deny His resurrection..
They deny Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
Need I say more...?

Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ.

The Bible calls Muhammed and those like him false prophets:
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)

Okay - why do you think people hate Islam? Have you got any personal experience of this? Or is it what people tell you?
As for experiencing bad effects - well, some people take their religion to far and when they feel compelled to bomb people on the Tube and buses and trains - well, then they might take it personally. And when people get threatened with beheading because someone draw a cartoon of the prophet Muhammed, well, that's not living up to Islan's reputation of being a peaceful religion.
I don't think anyone hates Islam. I think people feel nervous about extremism in any religion, especially when it has such violent overtones. Read your papers. And not just the Muslim ones, either, to get a better balanced look at the world around you.

Some people... you say. Because those people generalize.

They think : "if one person killed many people and this person's religion is islam, then this means that anyone that is from islam is also a killer."
We all know that this thought doesn't have ANY sense.
But some people still insist thinking this way.

We all know that each person is responsible by himself or herself.
We know that all christians are not all alike, we know that all man are not the same, we know that each person is unique.

Some people feel afraid. They would like to have something magical to solve they problems. Something fast and easy.
They would like to be able to know how each person they meet is so that they would not be mistaken by that person.
So that they could feel safe and say "I can trust this person."

But we know that all of this is illusion. We don't have a magical
way to know each person. People lie to us. There is no way to know if someone is a good or a bad person.

If someone thinks: "I will start to become a more intelligent individual." This person will stop generalizing and stop saying and thinking that all persons that belong to a group are all alike because we all know that this doesn't have any sense at all.

Sometimes, you need courage to accept this. We live with fear, but life is like this, always. There is no 100% safety.

Who said: Water, water everywhere?
Who said fools, fools every where?, Oh, this one I know... I.

The girl asked why do people hate Islam, not Muslims. Don't you know how to read a question? Some always do the same mistake again and over again, judging a religion by the action of it followers. Extending this kind of logic to Christianity itself, Christianity would be the worst religion ever, bearing in mind its bloody history.

Islam acknowledges Jesus as a prophet, not as a God or a son of God, denies Crucifixion, etc. What does this have to do with hypocrisy MR. Gary?

Gary, Gary everywhere. Isn't everybody entitled to his own opinion? Do not you believe in freedom of expression. Do you hate some one because he believes in a religion that does not validate certain thing in your own religion. How about Hinduism and Buddhism? Do you hate those followers, too. Isn't this being self-centred and arrogant? Don't you have a room in your mind that they might be right regarding Jesus Deity. I am not a Muslim and I do not believe in his Deity, either. Do you hate me, too, though I have not hurt you so far? Please, grow up.

I do not like any organized religion. Islam is just another obstacle to human freedom. While Muslims will exclaim that their religion is peaceful, and loving it does have traditions which are blatantly not so peaceful and loving.

Muslims do have quite a few expectations on how humans should behave and live their lives. These expectations may seem completely natural and rational from their perspective, but the beliefs are far from it from other people's perspective. And yes, their beliefs are generally pushed on people regardless if they want to admit it or not. The ones who say that their religion is not pushed on people are either a) Delusional b) Denying the truth to themselves or c) Just ignorant of their religion.

When one looks from the outside of religion these facts are very evident.

Beacuse people who are ignorant let themselves be brainwashed by the media it is easy to blame the weak Muslims for every disaster that happens. Plus Islam is the fastest growing religion and the West is scared from it so what better way than to bad mouth it.

I think its down to constant press exposure of the bad Muslims (who are bad, there's no doubts here) as well as the 'one rotten apple spoils the whole bunch' dilemma.

Plus there's the constant violence in Muslim countries where *some* Muslims feel that bad press is fab for Islam-like helllloooooo its not so cut it out!

As a Muslim I feel uncomfortable with the "molvi's", leaders of Muslim countries and some men using "islam" as a way of causing pain to others.

The world experiences the bad of Islam every single day. You're lucky you didn't have anyone you knew in New York or the Pentagon or in field in PA on 9-11. I guess you don't know anyone in Darfur so what happens there is none of your concern. We should just ignore the bombings in England and Spain because we don't live there. Who cares about people kidnapped, tied up and beheaded by Muslims who are so sick they even videotape it? These aren't rumors you ignorant, misguided fool. Islam kills innocent people.

May the one and only God of The Holy Bible open your eyes and your heart!!

Many people simply don't like anything or anyone that isn't just like them.

In the US the government has made Muslims the new scapegoat.

It's pretty much nonsense to assume that we know anything about a whole group of people based on what religion they believe in.
