that before Darwin's time, everything was the result of god? But then, after the idea that evolution (still frowned upon by many for no reason) existed, poeple said "Oh, evolution was god's idea." That makes me want to just yell all day.

I can honestly admit that THAT is a very narrow-minded thing to say. Religion has absolutely nothing to do with evolution, but people still try to involve a god in every single minute thing in life, but then try to say that there's nothing violent about it when the christian religion has the bloodiest history over the lifetime of the earth.

I have believed in evolution since I was literally in 1st grade, and never heard of a god until I was 12 years old, when someone threw a bible at me because I never heard of a god.
Why is the name "god" involved with every miniscule thing in life?

Yes, Religion was always used to explain things that could not be explained by science, however elementary. People believed that the sun was God and the earth was flat. When that was proven wrong then people believed that we were in the center of the universe. Then people believed that God created the earth but after telescopes came into play and we could see farther out into space, that changed to God created the entire universe when he said "Let There be light".

This pattern continues to this day with people saying that God created evolution, or evolution is the way in which God created us in his image.

90% of world conflicts are over Religion (Christian Conservatives, Radical Islamist, Sunni vs Shite, Jewish-Israel, and countless others.) Its a bit cruel, sadistic and frankly highly unlikely that a God would put 6 BILLION people on a planet and let them fight it out as to who's religion is better.

But Religion is not the enemey and God is not what we think. Quantum theory has PROVEN scientifically that we are all connected at the most basic atomic levels, and that everything is controlled by thoughts and thoughts alone. A physicist said "There is an enormous amount of energy in one atom, if our thoughts are controlling everything then creating a big bang could be done with the blink of an eye"

Its more of a struggle for POWER vs anything else. Everyone wants to be filled with energy which we know is there but dont know how to get to it. Some people find this power in the Bible, others through meditiation.. But the energy is all the same.

"Evolution is just a theory" what a load of cr@p! Evolution was just a theory when Darwin first proposed it centuries ago. Since then it has stood up to the most rigorous scientific and theological examination. Evolution was accepted as fact a long time ago even by the Church (Evolution was God's creation). Now as we enter the new Dark Ages all that knowledge is being dismissed in favour of religious dogma. Don't give me that cr@p about creationism being in the Bible, it's the same chapter that proposes incest (or is that OK too). While I'm on I'll totally burst your bubble; the Earth is neither flat nor the centre of the Universe.

It makes me wonder why people throw allegations at you.. just throw them without giving you a reason or two to support them!!!

I am not saying it is or it isn't, but could you give me a reason that evolution was not God's idea, and religion has nothing to do with evolution?

In addition, should you not judge Christianity ( religion itself) by its bloody history? Isn't this bloody history made by people not by the religion? Do not Judge a religion by the action of its follower, or even any other belief, dogma, etc. including democracy itself.

I do firmly doubt that you know all "history over the lifetime of the Earth"? I suggest that you get yourself more educated about the history of the Earth.

Having known evolution since you were in grade on, does not in any way give credit to the theory. We are not dealing with WINE here, the older the better.

It's called the "god of the gap", principle. The idea is that religion and mythology are attempts to explain things that we can't explain through science, so gods exist only in the gaps of our knowledge. In primitive times, when man had very little knowledge of the workings of the natural world, gods were everywhere. The more we learn, the less space gods have to exist.

As Darwin could have postulated, in order to survive in this dwindling habitat, religion must constantly adapt to ever-changing and ever-increasing knowledge.

Well, Tri, I have to say that if someone believes in God, they believe God is involved in everything. That's what God does. So, if they believe in God and understand evolution, then they will have to feel God makes evolution work.

That's just how it is. It's kinda part of believing in God, I think.

The theory was postulated pre-Darwin by James Hutton, whose work was widely discussed before Darwin published or even set forth on the Beagle. Darwin apparently just chose not to credit the earlier theorist.

Aside from that, is there supposed to be some merit in your having believed in evolution since you played in the sandbox? The name of God is involved with every miniscule thing because He created every miniscule thing, even you.

I agree with you that even if there is a god, there is no reason to point to him for everything. If god was a great and powerful being he would know that we are doing the best we can with what we have, he shouldn't care if we worship him. A god looking for worship is greedy and selfish. he should want us to do what is best for us. If we can be good people without wasting our time bowing down then that is what we should be doing. If I was god I would not require people to worship me. We are god's children, do you make your children worship you. There are people who believe in god who only do so because they are afraid of the alternative.

He created everything and everyone and He is the reason we are here--He loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us--the Bible has been around alot longer than the THEORY of evolution. All it takes is faith as small as a mustard seed and the heavenly Father can work with that and help us to grow to be the person He created us to be.

Religion has everything to do with evolve, grow, mature:
It's about Babe -> Child -> Man -> Perfect Man (Christ).

Babes do the Milk-y Way (Jewish) thing: Hebrews 5.
Child-ren, as Servants, get tossed to<->fro by law<->law..
A Man "puts away childish things": laws (1Corinthians 13).
The Perfect Man "Christ" is "author" of "eternal salvation".
"Christ": "the end of the law" is the "Saviour of the world".
"To wit": that God was in "Christ" reconciling the world...

In which things are an "allegory": Galatains 4
http://www.godshew.org/Allegory.htm

So as if a Spiritual Training Course;
With an over-all spirit-u-all more-all:
"Grace is sufficient" (no law required)
For law added makes grace "no more grace".
Not to mention life(grace) + death(law) ends badly.
Not to mention the end of the shew is already written:

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

i imagine it relies upon on what percentage each body is searching questions at the same time as you - there are cases at the same time as a similar questions stay on the first web page for a lengthy time period yet at the same time as that is busy on right here they'd purely be on the first web page for a couple of minutes...if that and maximum customers do not difficulty clicking onto the 2d, third web page and so on.... :-)
