If we are not to doubt God's word (ie: Creationism), then why does He allow us to believe in things that challenge his word (ie: Evolution?) Is it just a test from Him, or is is something that he is allowing to slip, so long as we still believe in Him??

Basically, is God a mean kid with a magnifying glass pointed on our ant hill called life???

Think of how many religions are in the world. Think of how many people are raised to believe that theirs is the right one. Who knows who's right. Now if something doesn't make any sense why would you believe it? Because someone told you your supposed to? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I say, Although the "Bible" has many good points, and life lessons, it is still just a book that some people wrote. Anyone can write a book and say "God" told them to do it.

Creationism isn't God's word - it's a silly old myth that very few Christians still believe, and no rational person believes.

If there is a God, he gave us intelligence and curiosity for a reason - to learn, to discover, and to question. Do you think God wants you to understand His creation by exploring it, studying it, and experiencing it for yourself, or do you think God would rather you just read a little story out of an ancient book?

The process of evolution is not a trick of Satan, or goblins, or any evil bogeyman. It's part of the way the Universe works. Obviously, nobody knew this a thousand years ago when the creation story was written, so they had to just make something up. The Biblical story of creation isn't some divine revelation, it's just another myth, like Odin pulling the sun in his chariot, or Zeus fathering the titans.

In a certain sense it doesn't seem right, but that is pride talking. We are, after all, creatures and we are subject to the Creator. This is actually a good question in my opinion and I don't believe there is a simple answer. The truth of the matter is that we will never even begin to understand the more complex issues until we are more obedient on the simpler issues that we do understand. If I am going to keep steeling, gossiping, lying, slandering, and being hate full...I can just forget about coming to any real understanding of Him. The most basic and fundamental truth is that we need to have our sins forgiven. If we don't start there, every path goes no-where. We must acknowledge our sins to Him, we must come to Christ. Apart from this it is futile to try and know and understand God.

hahaha... you're great... Actually the existence if free will is debatable to some Christians... somehow they've rationalized predestination... I mean COME ON... so God would actually pick & choose... create someone and then choose for them to go to hell... WHAT?! Anyways... free will doesn't exist (in the classic sense) And as for the dinosaur bones.. well.. you know.. lots of Christians have that one rationalized too (long-earth creationism, etc)

Questions like 'the theory of evolution' and 'creationism' are 'purely human' and have NOTHING to do with GOD. And God is not a 'person' and should not be 'seen as a person' when we 'think of him' ... because we can't KNOW what 'form' God has until we are 'with Him in Heaven' ... try reading C.S. Lewis's books, Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and (That) Hideous Strength to get a 'good idea' of just how 'different' and how WONDERFUL God really IS. They're 'fiction' and should be read as fiction ... but they also 'make you really think' about how you 'worship' and what you believe.

Calvinism is a theology that states that man rejects God anyway, we don't need his magnifying glass on our anthill. And if he "allows" us to believe in things besides his word, you're assuming that it's God's duty to save us, and that's also not true.

This theology negates any necessity for a "test" of any ability on your part -- you have none.

A suggestion then, to take a look at your life in this light and read the Bible as a guilty person, rather than innocent until proven guilty.

Dear Aubrie, to answer your question, no, God is not some big bully with a magenfying glass trying to hurt and confuse us. God along with creating us and givivng us the creation and our conscience as a wittness to him, has alos given us free will to either accept him or reject him. we have become proud and boastful and arrogant with our increase in knowledge and have therefore turned form God and brought about our own problems. God will help us, but why should he? If were so shure of ourselves that we have shunned God, then he is not Going to, because God' requires that for someone to receicve him and his strength and help, that they must belive in him and belive that he is a rewarderof those who dillegently seek him. Although I understand what is is like to be proud and boastful.

I once lived the Life of an avid skeptic and unbeliever, I hated religion and I looked down upon the idea of God, and I looked down upon Christianity’s risen messiah. I persisted in this view, Until as I skeptically picked up Gods word, he spoke, and I received a message stating: ”I am astonished you are so quickly removed from the Gospel you have heard to another, apparently there are some who have confused you and perverted the Gospel of Christ, but if any man preach unto you any other, then let them be eternally Condemned.” This harsh chastening of God, led me to reexamine my own skepticism. I later had yet another encounter with God, this time, he held up his Law (Ten Commandments) as mirror, and The Holy spirit convicted my heart as I came to realize God hates lying and stealing and blasphemy and adultery and idolatry, all of which I was guilty. I knew the Bible said the Just penalty for my sin was Hell. I fell upon my face and trembled before God, because I understood His holiness, I repented toward God and placed my faith and trust in Jesus, and now I have been forgiven and granted the gift of everlasting life. My sins have been forgiven, and I have a relationship with God.
God Bless

Grow up man!

You sound like a retard sophomore!

There is nothing wrong with evolution per se|

God could have used a gradual process to bring about life which we call evolution|

What is objectionable is atheism masquerading as science|

Natural selection is taught as fact when it is nothing but atheism under the cloak of science|

Anyone who knows anything knows that there is absolutely no proof for natural selection, and that it is an impossibility anyway|

Any scientist who says that natural selection is a proven fact is either lying or is grossly incompetent|

God allows you to make your own decisions, choose who you will believe and what you will believe.

However, if you can't believe that first part, how can yo believe the end, or the middle? Creation is the first example of God power and authority, if you don't believe that, then you don't really believe any of the Bible.

God never tempts us, but He will test us.
He did not devise evolution, or any of the other things which contradict His word. Give ya a guess who did...!

Friend, you've really got to wade through alot of man made garbage to find the truth. And yes, you can trust the Bible.
