Well, in order to prevent people applying honey to their hair, in those days elders of the family used to threaten the youngsters by saying, 'if you apply honey to your hair it will turn grey!'.

Actually, the reason is, honey contains lots of sugar in it. Knowingly or unknowingly if it is applied to the hair, it will spread on the pillows or bed and will attract ants and others insects. Some times, the person may even get bitten by the ants.

If we say the real reason to the children, especially, they will counter argue with their elders and will not obey the instruction. Therefore, if they say your hair will turn grey!... no one likes their hair turn grey so soon... so it works very well to maintain some etiquette at home!

No its not a true at all. Honey and bread is the most favourite break fast for me and i use to have it at least twice a month.
While applying honey to bread , if any excess comes on my hand i use to apply in my legs and hands. So far i haven't witnessed my hair changed into grey

i dont think so but i have some infos that honey can smoothens the hair

not true...I went to school to do hair...I still have to get my license....but why do you want to put honey in your hair? its way to sticky...and it hardens when it dries

with honey u can smooth ur skin not the hair grey.........

Its not true, my friend has done it for 5yrs, no grey hairs yet.
