Fevers and colds tend to dehydrate the body. That's why doctors always tell you to drink PLENTY of fluids when you have a cold or fever. Just drink lots of water and get some medicated lip balm.

Your body and lips are dehydrated. Drink more water and apply vaseline or a good lip balm to you lips to keep them hydrated.

Like everyone else says - it is dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids when you're sick.

Technically, we should all be drinking plenty of fluids even when we are not sick. I am guilty as I write this of not drinking fluids - but Florida tap water is nothing worth putting in your mouth - lol.
