I have an '02 Envoy that has the Bose system in it. It has great sound, but unfortunately since it's an SUV, it has no strong bass from the back of the vehicle. I want something that'll compliment the Bose sound and would like to know if anyone has ideas as what brand and size of amp/woofer would be best. I don't need something that will rattle the neighbors windows, just something with a clean and rich bass sound.

Thanks in advance for all ideas.

For the money and ease of installation you can't beat this....You can get an all inclusive bass with decent sound with a Bazooka tube. An 8" or 10" woofer tube has the amp built into it, you just have to run the inputs to it from the R and L rear speakers and a power wire from the battery. That's it. It turns on when the other speakers are on and shuts off when no signal is received...AND you can still control the bass from the knobs/buttons on your stereo. It's only about $120 in the U.S.

Ok well since all you want to do is add. What your best bet is for sound since you have a bose system already is go to the dealer ship order the factory sub and amp that goes to the deck. If you do not do this you got to rip all the system out because bose puts a default in there units that will not allow to put drops to put an amp with woofer. WHich totally sucks

their are interfaces for the Bose systems in gm vehicles ,but you are going to spend quite a bit more for the install.
most manufactures make what you are looking for, its an entry level to mid level setup.
kicker cvr
jl w3
fosgate punch series
mtx 5500
fusion power plant
autotek mean machine
American bass dx series
just to name a few , i would probably stick with single sealed 10 or 12
amplifiers power (rms) should match or exceed subs rms power
for the cleanest sound possible

If you want something clean i would go out and get some JL Audio W0's they are cheap but still have enough punch to get what you need you can get any amp you want for whatever price just dependes how much power you want id recommend an alpine amp they seem to work great with JL and as far as the wal mart brands i wouldnt be caught dead with them in my Envoy

run a single 8 or 10" if you just want to add some bump you dont have to get a high end name brand you could easily run an entry level sub and amp combo like wal mart has those lightning audio 10"subs and amp combos for about $100 and they actually sound pretty good

actually, it doesnt have good bass, because Bose doesnt have good bass. they never have. not a big fan of there highs either. you best bet is to rip out all that crap, and put in some Boston Acoustics speakers, and subs. you'll be amazed at the differnce.

there are alot of wrong answers on here. stay away from Bazooka. it's cheap, and sounds muddy. this is what you'll find out of most of the suggestions so far, except for the guy that recommended kicker.

a little loud, but should be fairly clean

i have a dodge durango, its similar in size i bielieve. i have 2 10" kicker subs in it, and they sound great. you have to adjust settings to your liking with any custom audio installation. i listen to rock / metal and i couldnt be happier with these.
