I'm pretty sure that HMX-1 "The Nighthawks" are a terrific squadron to work for... you get high-priority for parts !!

I've met and worked with some of their crews back in the late 80's and early 90's when they were in the SoCal area.. they would operate out of our hangars at NAS North Island.

A VERY squared away group with a VERY important mission. And DAMN... the VH-60N is one PRETTY bird !!

The presidential and VIP flights fall under "Whiteside", the Executive Flight Detachment. Most activities of Whiteside are directed by the White House Military Office. Whiteside, although based at Quantico, Virginia, operates extensively out of an alert facility at Naval Air Station Anacostia in Washington DC, which conjoins Bolling Air Force Base. Operations by "Greenside", which is the rest of HMX-1, include operational test and evaluation, such as with the V-22 Osprey, a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, and support of exercises and training evolutions for the Marine Corps Combat Development Command at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.

I still have my President Reagan era jelly-bean jar with the HMX-1 logo and the White House logo...
