you will have to perferate it , either with a stanley blade (lots of score marks ) or get a wallpaper scratcher (small roller with blades ) you have to get the steam behind the foil ::::

Ugh, brings back some bad memories for me. Definitely have to score it, then use steamer. It is a brutal job, but well worth it. I rented one for a weekend from Home Depot. It did the trick. Not sure if you already have the large wallpaper stripper tool or not. Less than 10 bucks and you change out the blade when it becomes dull. Can't think of real name, but it's about a foot long. It was a very helpful tool.

Probably will have to score it with a wallpaper tool and wet it with a paste disolver like "Ziff". Someone at a paint store or hardware store should be able to help you with similar stuff where ever you are located.

i doubt if you will get it off without removing the face of the plaster and you have to ask yourself ..why was it there in the first place? ..you may well get damp back ..is that what you want ..put lining paper over it

Use a perforating tool and stripper,or perforating tool and steam.The paint store will have one.
